~~NOTOC~~ //Did you see the way Lady Vors was checking me out back there? She was practically drooling. Looks like I've still got it.// Eating your own kind is taboo, and with the breaking of taboos come certain powers. Ghoul is one of those archetypes that's almost completely meant for monsters, not for players. I guess if somebody really wants to be a vampire or whatever then they could take levels in it, but only as long as everybody around the table is okay with that kind of stuff. ^[[#Ghoul]] ^^The power of cannibalism. | |{{fa>caret-right?24}} |[[#Brain Eater]] |Steal memories and languages. | |{{fa>caret-right?24}} |[[#Fetch]] |Steal shapes. | |{{fa>caret-right?24}} |[[#Manhunt]] |Kill your own kind. | |{{fa>caret-right?24}} |[[#Palate]] |Widen your menu. | |{{fa>caret-right?24}} |[[#Sanguine]] |Steal combat skill. | ^ ^^^ ====== Ghoul ====== ^ ^^^ ^{{ra>gear-hammer?48|Utility}} ||{{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Cannibalize:** You can restore lost Flesh to yourself by taking what you need from corpses. Depending on context this might mean eating them, draining their blood or tearing out organs and stuffing them into your own chest cavity, but regardless of the method anybody who sees you doing it knows that you're a monster. \\ \\ {{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Clearly Food:** If you cannibalize a creature, you don't have to spend any Provisions to feed yourself that day. You've already eaten. \\ \\ {{fa>minus-circle?24&align=left}}**Choice Meat:** A corpse must be of your own species in order for you to cannibalize it for Flesh. You can only cannibalize relatively fresh corpses (or if they technically aren't a corpse yet, that's okay too- the process of feeding on them inevitably turns them into one). \\ \\ {{fa>minus-circle?24&align=left}}**Savor Every Bite:** You may only regain 1 point of Flesh per corpse cannibalized. Cannibalizing a single corpse requires a procedure to complete. \\ \\ {{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Sapience Doesn't Equal Rights:** If you have access to a Butcher facility from the [[Bazaar]] establishment, you may ignore the usual -5 Dosh value penalty when butchering something that did not have the Simple weakness. \\ \\ {{ra>doubled?24&align=left}}**Sweeney Todd:** If you also know the Supertaster ability from the [[Chef]] archetype, you can make and consume prepared meat cuts from members of your own species in order to temporarily borrow their power. \\ \\ {{ra>doubled?24&align=left}}**Frankenstein:** If you also know the Grafter ability from the [[Fecundite]] archetype, you can graft parts from members of your own species to yourself to gain their abilities. | ^ ^^^ ====== Brain Eater ====== ^ ^^^ ^{{ra>gear-hammer?48|Utility}} ||{{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Absorb Memory:** After feeding on a corpse, you gain some of the deceased's memories and can answer any simple question that the subject would know the answer to (such as “where are the diamonds hidden?” or “what was their real name?”). \\ \\ {{fa>minus-circle?24&align=left}}**Fading Fast:** After getting your answer, roll a trigger die. On a 7+, you may answer another question. On a 1-6, the memories have faded and you cannot ask any more. You can keep answering questions until you roll a 1-6, at which point you're done. \\ \\ {{fa>minus-circle?24&align=left}}**Vague Impressions:** You cannot answer complex questions that would require more than a short phrase as an answer. All stolen memories automatically fade at the end of the session even if you didn't exhaust them by asking questions. | ^ ^^^ ^{{ra>gear-hammer?48|Utility}} ||{{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Tongue Eater:** After feeding on a corpse, you can speak all the languages known by the dead subject. \\ \\ {{fa>minus-circle?24&align=left}}**Lost Tongues:** You lose all languages gained by this ability at the end of each session. \\ \\ {{ra>doubled?24&align=left}}**Meaty Linguist:** If you also know the Linguist ability from the [[Scholar]] archetype, temporarily gaining a language via this ability counts as having the full exposure and materials required to learn it permanently if you want. | ^ ^^^ ====== Fetch ====== ^ ^^^ ^{{ra>gear-hammer?48|Utility}} ||{{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Absorb Shape:** After feeding on a corpse, you can physically change to resemble the person you just ate. This disguise is complete- your voice, your scent, and even your unconscious mannerisms match your victim's. Your behavior probably won't, though. Abilities that see the truth of things (such as Truesight from the [[Investigator]] archetype or Detect Evil from the [[Helsing]] archetype) can reveal who you really are. \\ \\ {{fa>minus-circle?24&align=left}}**Transitory:** You temporarily resume your true form whenever you use Ghoul to feed on a new corpse. If you ever choose to take the shape of a different victim, you cannot ever resume the shape of one you've shed. | ^ ^^^ ====== Manhunt ====== ^ ^^^ ^{{ra>fireball-sword?48|Offense}} ||{{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Butcher:** You deal +2 damage with all attacks against targets of your own species. | ^ ^^^ ====== Palate ====== ^ ^^^ ^{{ra>gear-hammer?48|Utility}} ||{{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Grave Robber:** A corpse doesn't have to be fresh in order for you to feed off it. So long as you at least have a few old bones to gnaw on, you gain the full benefits of this archetype's abilities. | ^ ^^^ ^{{ra>gear-hammer?48|Utility}} ||{{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Xenocannibalism:** You can benefit from eating the corpse of any sapient being, not just your own species. Any creature that does not have the Simple weakness is considered sapient. | ^ ^^^ ====== Sanguine ====== ^ ^^^ ^{{ra>gear-hammer?48|Utility}} ||{{fa>plus-circle?24&align=left}}**Heart Eater:** After feeding on a corpse, you temporarily increase one of your combat statistics (Melee, Remote, or Whelm) by +1 point. \\ \\ {{fa>minus-circle?24&align=left}}**Overload Spill:** Your additional combat statistics fade at the end of each session. \\ \\ {{fa>minus-circle?24&align=left}}**Limited Ascension:** You can only raise a given combat statistic by +1 if the victim you're feeding off of has a higher score in that statistic than you currently do. If theirs is equal to or less than yours, you gain no benefit. | ^ ^^^
