You're talking about bears, right? For once in my life, I really hope you're talking about bears.

Abominations are deeply, horribly wrong. Other monsters might be gross or weird or alien and get called abominable as a result, but something with actual levels in Abomination is some next level Lovecraftian shit. There are a lot of dark or monstrous-themed archetypes that are still available as options for player-controlled adventurers, but this one is probably as close as any archetype comes to s…

The Acrobat archetype focuses on graceful movement. An adventurer that chooses to become an Acrobat can expect to have much less trouble with rough or weird terrain obstacles, to the point that there will not infrequently be places you can get to that no one else in your party is capable of.

I met a monk once who had achieved perfect bodily control after a lifetime of practice. There's not a lot of situations where putting your brain in a robot body is actually the easier option.

Adamants transcend biological limitations to some degree, translating in game terms into passive protection from many problems that are much more worrisome to everyone else (including more condition immunities than any other archetype in the game). This makes Adamant a somewhat boring, but practical archet…

The Aegis is a heavily defensive-oriented archetype that allows for shareable buffs instead of only guarding yourself. An Agency can be a valuable source of new adventure hooks by itself. Its more advanced facilities, however, allow adventurers to take a more active hand in the goings-on nearby the base. Since so many of these are location-dependent, an Agency is often much more valuable the closer it is to other bases and locations of interest.

A basic Amuseum is useful for mid-session Stress reduction on demand, but its advanced facilities offer a wide variety of weirder services. An archetype is both what you are and what you do. All archetypes are structured identically: the archetype itself which serves as anchor and entry-point, then a group of five related abilities that expand upon the archetype's core functionality in some way. You gain a new archetype or advanced ability from an archetype you already have every time you level up.

It's admirable to focus on mastering only one weapon, give it a name and all that. It's also okay to just show up with a pillowcase full of guns.

The Arsenal archetype allows its users to easily adapt to many different combat situations by allowing them to temporarily access whatever weapon type they feel would be best for the job at hand. This has the unfortunate side-effect of requiring the player to have passing familiarity with many different weapon types to get the most use out of this arc…

Artificers concern themselves with the inner workings of the world of inanimate objects, transcending mere tool use to attain tool creation, tool innovation, and tool destruction. A traditional RPG campaign involves a small group of people meeting regularly in order to advance a tight, intricate plotline to its conclusion over the space of many months. All The preparations are complete, and the time has come. Ravens were once considered the least among us, but all now know the truth: you are the beating heart and unassailable spine of our society, and always have bee…

Firebug is an excellent archetype for offensive purposes, so long as you don't do a lot of fighting in libraries or other extremely flammable environments. Depending on the circumstances, a Firebug might end up burning a lot more than intended. For those interested in this archetype, that's probably half the point.

A Negotiator's weapons are words, and the archetype has several useful tricks that let them get what they want without ever having to resort to violence (unless they want to). The archetype is a very low-tech, easily-justified one for inclusion in almost any campaign setting imaginable.

Shapeshifters have a tremendous amount of versatility due to the fact that changing their shape also changes their capabilities.
Learning to drive is just like learning to swim. That's why I intend to give you the wheel if we ever find ourselves in the deep end.

Vehicles are powerful and versatile, but carry high potential expenses as well. Owning a vehicle is almost like running a second adventurer, which might not appeal to all players. On the other hand, an entire party can easily and directly benefit from only a single Vehiclist so the archetype's appeal doesn't need to be universal.

Most creatures in a campaign world are probably assumed to be animal/artificial in nature, but taking levels in Verdant almost requires being plant-based instead. That said, being a Verdant isn't just being a plant. Verdants transcend mere taxonomic definitions and biology, taking the basic plant theme and pushing it much further in order to become something more.

Vigilants are twitchy, perhaps even paranoid. Considering how often they end up in danger, this makes them perfectly sane, rational individuals. Branching out into the Vigilant archetype is useful to any adventurer that wants to come home again or simply those who love to strike first.

Being Warded gives any adventurer a powerful “oh shit” button to get them out of trouble that doesn't consume any form of resources, but be careful: calling upon a guardian too much early on might leave you without its help later when you really need it.

Weaknesses are powerful, ongoing drawbacks that make life harder for both adventurers and the foes they face. Having a weakness grants additional archetypes/abilities that don't count against the normal limit of one archetype/ability per level.

Wishmasters have access to a powerful and versatile, but limited ability that also has a chance to carry nasty consequences. It's a good fit for players who enjoy the gambler's thrill of high-risk and high-reward, or for more prudent types can make for an excellent support ability if used as a more calculated risk…

Workshops give a base improved manufacturing and material resource management. Even if none of its advanced applications are attractive, a basic Workshop is highly useful for any adventurer that tends to run out of Supplies quickly (such as from using heavy weapons).

Fighting dirty? There's no such thing. If somebody comes at you, use every advantage you can get.

Wrestlers are exceptionally talented when it comes to desperate, close-quarters struggles for survival. The archetype primarily enhances grappling ability, providing a powerful control option for combat use regardless of what one's weapon of choice is. It's also conceptually very low-tech and inexpensive, making it available in practically every campaign setting imaginable.
