Mimics do nothing original, but with a bit of strategy can be one of the most flexible and versatile archetypes in the game by acting as a doubler for all of your friends' most effective tricks.

Utility | plus-circleMonkey See: If you see something being done, you can copy it… once. When an ally takes any action within 5 meters of your location, you can spend an action of your own during the same turn to mimic it. plus-circleMonkey Do: If the mimicked action was granted by an archetype (such as most weapon attacks), then you are considered to have the relevant archetype for the instant it takes to mimic the action. If the mimicked action is granted by an advanced ability from an archetype (such as Slow from the Chronomancer archetype or Size Up from the Negotiator archetype), you are considered to have both the archetype and the relevant advanced ability for the instant it takes to mimic the action. plus-circlePersonalized: Mimicked actions use your own position, combat statistics and trigger die (if relevant). If the mimicked action costs resources (Provisions, Supplies, or Mojo), you must pay it and you cannot mimic an ability that potentially costs resources if you do not currently have any appropriate resources of your own remaining. If you know any abilities that would potentially upgrade an action you are mimicking (such as an elemental archetype adding a condition to a weapon attack) then they are applied as normal to the mimicked action. minus-circleActions Only: You can only mimic things that took an action. You cannot mimic free actions, nor can you mimic passive supporting effects (such as condition immunities). minus-circleLimits: You can only mimic actions taken by allies, not enemies. You can only mimic actions taken during the same phase by an ally that has taken their action before you- anything they did last round is irrelevant. minus-circleConstrained Copy: Mimicry only momentarily grants you the bare minimum archetype (and maybe one advanced ability) required for you to produce the same effect as your ally; it does not grant any additional bonuses or modifications the original effect had due to other abilities known by the ally you're mimicking such as added conditions, range enhancements, etc. As soon as you've used the mimicked ability, you lose access to the granted archetype/ability. If the granted archetype and ability both give different actions, you still can only produce the one you're actually mimicking. |

Utility | plus-circleKeep That Trick: When you mimic an action, you can choose to memorize it. You can re-use any memorized action as many times as you like. minus-circleMomentary Mastery: All memorized actions fade from your memory and are lost at the end of each exploration turn. minus-circleMojo: Every time you memorize a mimicked action, roll a trigger die. If the result is 1-3, then doing so costs 1 point of Mojo. You cannot memorize mimicked actions if you have no Mojo remaining. |
|
---|---|---|
Utility | plus-circleThe Whole Enchilada: When you mimic an action, your mimicked version also gains the benefits of any relevant passive abilities known by the original user (such as added elemental conditions, range/area enhancements, integrated effects, etc). minus-circleFree Passives Only: Only straight-up passive mechanical improvements to a given action are mimicked with Gestalt. Any additional effects that would require a separate action, additional potential Provisions/Supplies/Mojo, Attention/Energy/Flesh, Stress or other add-on costs are not. |

Utility | plus-circleMercurial Skillset: By spending a procedure, you can temporarily learn any archetype known by a present ally and use it as if it were your own. This is not like regular mimickry because it grants an ongoing, dependable capability instead of a quick single action. For example, if an ally has levels in the Trickster archetype you could use this ability to also have access to it in a negotiation and back them up with well-told lies, or maybe mimic another ally's Gunslinger archetype to give your team more ranged offensive ability. minus-circleConstant Exposure: You have to remain in the company of whoever you're mimicking in order to keep it up. If you start a new exploration turn in a different node than whoever you're mimicking, you automatically lose the mimicked archetype. minus-circleSingle Copy: Mimicking an entire skillset requires a good amount of concentration. You can only use Gogo to mimic a single archetype at a time, and cannot ever use it to mimic an advanced ability from any archetype. You can change which archetype you're imitating by spending another procedure. minus-circleMojo: Every time you take on a new archetype with Gogo, you must spend 1 Mojo. |

Utility | plus-circleLong Range Imitation: You can mimic any action you see being taken within 20 meters instead of only 5. | |
---|---|---|
Utility | plus-circleBack At Ya: You can mimic any enemy action that happened during the previous phase, not just ally actions. | |
